Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which works to deal with drug addiction issues and psychological disorders which may possibly be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the person in rehabilitation takes part in various treatment services and methods during the day and then returns home in the night time. This is carried out several days per week, depending on the significance of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug addicted persons in West Berlin who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient treatment, or who are not able to be apart from their households for extensive durations of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in traditional counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction problems while also dealing with mental health disorders which may deter them from staying sober once rehabilitation is complete.
