Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol rehab program that works to handle drug addiction disorders and psychological disorders which might be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the treatment client in rehab participates in a number of treatment activities and strategies in the day and then returns home in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, all dependent on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for addicted persons in Ward who are unable to afford long-term inpatient rehab, or for those who are unable to be apart from their home and work for extensive periods of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in standard counseling and therapy for addiction problems while simultaneously dealing with mental health issues which could keep them from staying abstinent after rehabilitation is done.
