Treating men and women who are addicted and dependent to drugs and/or alcohol and have landed somewhere in the criminal justice system has proven a productive method of curbing repeat drug related offenses for individuals who do become rehabilitated. For criminal justice clients in Wampum who do agree to take part in treatment in alcohol and drug treatment programs, even un-voluntarily as is often ordered by the court, these clients have a far better opportunity of addressing the crux of the issue so that they can remain sober and away from negative influences and [[[committing drug related criminal acts. The costs to society associated with these drug related criminal offenses is also impacted positively when criminal justice clients are rehabbed in drug rehabilitation programs in Wampum instead of jail time or other penalties.
