Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug rehab facility which is meant to handle drug and alcohol addiction disorders and mental health issues which may possibly be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the individual in rehab partakes in various rehab activities and methods in the day and then leaves in the night time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, all dependent on the seriousness of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for drug or alcohol addicted people in Victoria who who may be unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient care, or who are not able to be apart from their home for extensive periods of time. While in Day Treatment, people participate in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while at the same time dealing with mental health issues which could keep them from staying sober after rehab is complete.
