Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which is meant to deal with drug and alcohol addiction issues and mental health problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the treatment client in treatment participates in various rehabilitation activities and techniques in the day and then leaves in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the significance of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug or alcohol addicted people in Vancouver who are unable to afford long-term inpatient rehab, or for treatment clients who are not able to be apart from their home for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients participate in standard counseling and therapy for addiction issues while simultaneously overcoming psychological disorders which may deter them from remaining sober when treatment is done.
