Pregnant and postpartum women in Uvalda that are also drug and/or alcohol addicted not only put their own life in jeopardy, but are also putting their unborn or newborn child at risk of many serious consequences. The final result is grim when pregnant and women who have just given birth who choose to stay involved in alcohol and drug abuse do not seek out and receive effective drug rehabilitation. There are drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities in the Uvalda area which specifically work exclusively with expectant mothers and mothers who have just given birth. These sorts of drug and alcohol rehab programs offer all necessary medical treatment and other necessities for pregnant and postpartum women and their children so that addicted mothers can obtain the help they desperately need.
