Criminal justice clients are a large percentage of clients who are currently taking part in drug rehab centers in Tuskegee, Alabama and in the USA. Judges around the country are finding it more effective to treat men and women who have found their way into the criminal justice system for drug related crimes, instead of punishing them to no avail with time in jail and other penalties. It has proven more effective to handle the problem of addiction directly, than to enforce such penalties. Most who do not end up in alcohol and drug rehab will frequently wind back up in the criminal justice system, whilst criminal justice clients in alcohol and drug treatment frequently don't make the same mistakes and have a better chance at staying abstinent and out of the court system completely.
