Treating individuals who are addicted and dependent to drugs and/or alcohol and have found their way into the criminal justice system has proven to be effective in preventing future drug related criminal offenses by those that do receive treatment. For criminal justice clients in Troy that do take part in in alcohol and drug rehab programs, even un-voluntarily as is occasionally ordered by the court, these individuals have a significantly better opportunity of dealing with the crux of the issue so that they can stay off of drugs and off of being implicated in drug related criminal activity.
