Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of alcohol and drug treatment facility which works to treat drug and alcohol addiction issues and psychological issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the individual in rehab takes part in a variety of rehabilitation activities and strategies during the day and then returns home in the evening. This is done several days per week, depending on the severity of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug or alcohol addicted persons in Toomsuba who are unable to pay for long-term inpatient treatment, or who are unable to be away from their home for extensive periods of time. While in Day Treatment, people participate in traditional counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction problems while at the same time addressing psychological issues which could keep them from staying sober once rehabilitation is done.
