Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug treatment program that is meant to deal with substance abuse disorders and mental health problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the individual in treatment participates in a number of rehabilitation services and strategies in the daytime and then returns home in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the problem.
