Native Americans and Alaska Natives are known to have considerably increased rates of abuse and addiction than other races, an a circumstance which should be resolved for these people to survive. Although the reasons may vary from person to person, the majority of of the factors for the high rates of alcohol and drug abuse among Native American and Alaska Natives are cultural ones. In fact, Native American and Alaska Native adolescents appear to have some of the highest rates of drug and alcohol abuse in the U.S.. The most apparent barriers to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for drug and alcohol addiction are cultural ones and language. Due to this it is important that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Stone Lake, Wisconsin receive treatment services in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility that is understanding of their culture, but more importantly in a drug rehab that takes into the account the need to offer alcohol and drug rehab in their native tongue.
