Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug treatment program which is meant to deal with drug addiction problems and psychological issues which might be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the treatment client in rehabilitation takes part in a variety of treatment services and strategies in the daytime and then returns home in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug or alcohol addicted people in St. Hedwig who are unable to pay for long-term inpatient rehab, or who are not able to be away from their home and work for extended lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in typical counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction problems while at the same time overcoming psychological issues which could keep them from remaining sober when treatment is complete.
