Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug rehab facility that is meant to deal with drug addiction issues and psychological problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the treatment client in treatment participates in various treatment activities and methods during the day and then returns home in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, all dependent on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug or alcohol addicted individuals in St. Elmo who may not be able to cover the costs of long-term inpatient treatment, or who are not able to be away from their home for prolonged durations of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients participate in typical treatment services for alcohol or drug addiction issues while at the same time dealing with mental health problems which may deter them from staying abstinent after treatment is complete.
