Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of alcohol and drug rehab program that is meant to deal with substance abuse problems and psychological problems which might be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the treatment client in rehabilitation partakes in various rehabilitation activities and approaches in the daytime and then returns home in the evening. This is done several days per week, depending on the seriousness of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for addicted people in Sledge who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient rehab, or who are unable to be apart from their households for prolonged durations of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals take part in traditional treatment services for alcohol or drug addiction issues while at the same time dealing with mental health disorders which may deter them from remaining abstinent after rehabilitation is complete.
