Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol treatment facility which is meant to handle drug addiction issues and psychological disorders which may be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the person in rehabilitation participates in a variety of rehabilitation services and approaches during the day and then returns home in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, depending on the severity of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be beneficial for drug or alcohol addicted persons in Sherman who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient treatment, or who are not able to be apart from their households for extended durations of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients participate in standard counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction problems while at the same time dealing with mental health disorders which may deter them from staying abstinent once rehabilitation is done.
