Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility that is meant to treat substance abuse problems and psychological issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the person in rehabilitation participates in various treatment services and strategies during the day and then leaves in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the seriousness of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for addicted men and women in Scotland, South Dakota who are unable to pay for long-term inpatient care, or for treatment clients who are unable to be apart from their home for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, people take part in standard treatment services for alcohol or drug addiction issues while also dealing with psychological disorders which may deter them from staying sober once rehabilitation is complete.
