Centers which go by the name of Partial Hospitalization or Day Treatment centers are available to those people in Scandinavia who are having difficulties with co-occurring drug and alcohol abuse and mental health issues. These types of centers can be effective to those rehabilitation clients in Scandinavia that might not be able to afford inpatient treatment, or who are not able to take advantage of an inpatient center because of familial obligations. Partial hospitalization programs treat the individual in the daytime through therapy and other rehabilitation techniques, and the individual goes home in the PM. Treatment is performed anywhere from five to seven days per week on an intensive plan which is aimed at fully rehabilitating the client both body and psychologically.
