Criminal justice clients are a large percentage of clientele who are currently taking part in drug rehabilitation programs in San Luis Obispo and across the nation. Judicial systems in the country are finding it more effective to rehab men and women who have wound up in the criminal justice system for drug related crimes, instead of punishing them in vain with jail time and other such rulings. It is proven to be more effective to handle the issue of drug addiction directly, rather than enforce such penalties. Most who do not wind up in drug rehabilitation will often wind back up in the criminal justice system, whilst criminal justice clients in alcohol and drug rehabilitation generally don't fall back into drug use and have a much better chance at remaining sober and out of the court system entirely.
