DUI/DWI offenders in Rio Rico are occasionally given the opportunity to participate in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility instead of punishment for their alcohol or drug related crimes. The punishment for such offenses can occasionally be quite serious, including being locked up in jail and significant fines and various significant costs to pay for being prosecuted and/or convicted of DUI/DWI. Frequently, specifically for first time offenders, the criminal justice system may decide that addressing the issues of alcohol and drug abuse in drug or alcohol rehab is going to be more effective in the long term for curbing the issue.
