Native Americans and Alaska Natives are known to have significantly increased rates of alcohol and drug abuse and alcohol and drug addiction than other ethnicities, an a circumstance which has to be addressed for these people to survive. Although the things which trigger substance abuse may differ from individual to person, most of the factors for the significantly higher rates of abuse among Native American and Alaska Natives have to do with their culture. In fact, Native American and Alaska Native youth have some of the highest rates of drug and alcohol abuse in the nation. The most obvious obstacles to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for addiction are cultural differences and language. For this reason it is crucial that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Rehoboth receive rehab treatment in a drug and alcohol rehab program that is culturally acceptable, but more importantly in a drug rehab that considers the need to provide drug and alcohol rehabilitation in their native tongue.
