Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug treatment center which is meant to treat drug and alcohol addiction issues and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the individual in rehabilitation partakes in a variety of rehab services and techniques in the day and then leaves in the evening time. This is done several days a week, depending on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for addicted persons in Providence who are unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient treatment, or for treatment clients who are not able to be apart from their families for extensive lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, people take part in standard counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction problems while also addressing mental health issues which may deter them from staying abstinent after treatment is done.
