Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol treatment center which works to deal with substance abuse problems and mental health problems which may possibly be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the individual in rehabilitation partakes in a variety of rehab activities and strategies during the day and then returns home in the night time. This is done several days per week, all dependent on the severity of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug or alcohol addicted individuals in Paradox who who may be unable to afford long-term inpatient rehab, or for those who are not able to be apart from their households for extended durations of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in traditional treatment services for addiction issues while also addressing psychological issues which may deter them from staying abstinent when rehabilitation is done.
