Criminal justice clients in Palestine often end up in alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs due to the fact they were found guilty of crimes relating to drugs, whether they were distributing drugs or were in the possession of or found to be high on drugs. Some courts put these types of persons into the alcohol and drug rehab system mainly due to the fact that they believe that rehabbing them is more helpful for the culture at large and for the individual, rather than putting them in prison with no treatment at all.
