Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a kind of alcohol and drug treatment program which works to treat substance abuse problems and psychological problems which might be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the individual in rehabilitation participates in various rehab activities and techniques in the daytime and then leaves in the evening. This is done several days a week, depending on the seriousness of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug addicted persons in Palermo who are unable to afford long-term inpatient treatment, or for those who are not able to be away from their home and work for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in traditional counseling and therapy for addiction problems while at the same time overcoming psychological disorders which may deter them from remaining sober once rehab is done.
