Gays and Lesbians can sometimes have diverse treatment requirements when receiving treatment. A specialized curriculum and rehab atmosphere which is conducive to the needs of gays and lesbians is available in certain alcohol and drug rehabilitation facilities throughout the Nuiqsut area which acknowledge the unique needs and challenges which gays and lesbians in Nuiqsut will have to overcome while in treatment. LGBT in Nuiqsut can be fully rehabilitated in the same way as any other client in drug rehab, though it is helpful for gays and lesbians to be in a supportive environment while in drug and alcohol rehab which will not at all discriminate against them or alienate them due to their sexual preference.
