Criminal justice clients are a large percentage of clients who take part in drug and alcohol treatment programs in North Windham and in the USA. Judges in the country often find it more helpful to treat individuals who have wound up in the criminal justice system for crimes relating to drugs, instead of penalizing them in vain with time in jail and other such rulings. It has proven more effective to handle the problem of drug addiction directly, than to invoke these sorts of penalties. The majority of who do not end up in drug and alcohol rehabilitation will typically turn right back up in the criminal justice hamster wheel, whilst criminal justice clients in drug treatment often don't fall back into drug use and have a far better chance at remaining abstinent and away from the court system entirely.
