Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug treatment program which works to treat drug addiction disorders and mental health disorders which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in rehab participates in a number of treatment services and techniques in the daytime and then returns home in the evening. This is done several days a week, all dependent on the severity of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug addicted individuals in Newport News who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their households for prolonged durations of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients participate in standard treatment services for addiction problems while also dealing with mental health disorders which could keep them from staying abstinent when rehabilitation is done.
