Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of drug and alcohol rehab program which is meant to handle substance abuse disorders and mental health problems which may possibly be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in rehab takes part in a variety of rehabilitation activities and strategies during the day and then returns home in the night time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted persons in Mount Carmel who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be apart from their home and work for extensive lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients participate in standard treatment services for drug and alcohol addiction problems while also addressing psychological issues which may deter them from remaining abstinent after rehab is complete.
