Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of alcohol and drug treatment facility which works to treat drug and alcohol addiction problems and mental health issues which might be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the person in rehabilitation participates in various treatment activities and techniques in the day and then leaves in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, all dependent on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for addicted individuals in Middle River who are unable to afford long-term inpatient care, or for treatment clients who are not able to be apart from their families for extensive durations of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in traditional treatment services for alcohol or drug addiction problems while at the same time addressing psychological issues which could keep them from staying sober once rehab is done.
