Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of drug rehabilitation center which works to treat drug addiction problems and psychological disorders which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the treatment client in treatment takes part in a number of rehabilitation services and strategies in the day and then returns home in the evening. This is carried out anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the severity of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted individuals in Mexico, New York who may not be able to afford long-term inpatient treatment, or for those who are not able to be away from their home for extensive lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in traditional counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction problems while simultaneously dealing with mental health problems which may deter them from staying abstinent after treatment is done.
