Criminal justice clients are a large percentage of clients who are currently taking part in drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities in Marquand and in the USA. Judicial systems around the country are finding it more effective to rehab people who have wound up in the criminal justice system for crimes relating to drugs, instead of punishing them to no avail with jail time and other such rulings. It has proven more successful to handle the problem of drug addiction directly, than to invoke such penalties. Most who do not wind up in drug and alcohol rehabilitation will often wind back up in the criminal justice system, whilst criminal justice clients in drug treatment often don't fall back into drug use and have a far better chance at staying sober and out of the court system entirely.
