Native Americans and Alaska Natives have significantly higher rates of substance abuse and drug addiction than other races, an a circumstance which has to be addressed for these cultures to survive. The most obvious hurdles to treating Native Americans and Alaska Natives for drug and alcohol addiction are cultural differences and their language.
