Pregnant and postpartum women in Lebanon who are also addicted to drugs or alcohol are not only putting their own lives in jeopardy, but are also putting their fetus or newborn in jeopardy of many devastating consequences. The final result is very grim when pregnant and postpartum women who are involved in substance abuse do look for and receive proven and workable drug and alcohol treatment. There are drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs in the Lebanon area which actually exclusively work with pregnant and mothers who have just given birth. These types of drug rehabilitation centers provide all necessary medical treatment and other amenities for expectant mothers and postpartum women and their babies so that addicts who are also mothers can get the treatment they must have for their sake and their child's.
