Native Americans and Alaska Natives are known to have significantly very high rates of substance abuse and drug addiction than other ethnicities, an a situation which must be aknowledged for these people to survive. While the things which trigger substance abuse may vary from individual to individual, most of the reasons for the high rates of alcohol and drug abuse among Native American and Alaska Natives are cultural ones. In fact, Native American and Alaska Native youth appear to have some of the highest rates of alcohol and drug abuse in the country. The most obvious obstacles to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for addiction are cultural ones and their language. For this reason it is important that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Huntley, Montana receive treatment services in a drug treatment facility that is culturally acceptable, but most importantly in a drug rehab program that takes into the account the need to provide drug treatment in their native tongue.
