Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol rehab facility that works to deal with drug addiction problems and psychological problems which might be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the person in rehab participates in a number of treatment services and techniques in the day and then leaves in the evening. This is done anywhere from five to seven days a week, depending on the significance of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for addicted people in Holland who may not be able to cover the costs of long-term inpatient care, or who are unable to be away from their families for prolonged periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals take part in traditional counseling and therapy for addiction problems while simultaneously overcoming mental health disorders which could keep them from staying abstinent when rehabilitation is done.
