Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of drug treatment program that works to handle substance abuse issues and psychological problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the person in rehab partakes in a variety of rehabilitation services and strategies during the day and then returns home in the evening. This is carried out several days per week, depending on the significance of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug or alcohol addicted persons in Holland who are unable to afford long-term inpatient treatment, or for treatment clients who are not able to be apart from their families for extensive lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, people take part in traditional treatment services for alcohol or drug addiction problems while simultaneously addressing psychological disorders which may deter them from staying sober when rehabilitation is done.
