Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of alcohol and drug rehabilitation program which works to deal with substance abuse disorders and mental health problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the person in rehab participates in a variety of treatment activities and methods during the day and then leaves in the night time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, all dependent on the seriousness of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug or alcohol addicted persons in Highland, New York who may not be able to pay for long-term inpatient care, or for those who are unable to be apart from their home and work for extensive periods of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in traditional treatment services for addiction issues while at the same time overcoming psychological issues which could keep them from remaining abstinent when rehab is complete.
