Native Americans and Alaska Natives have considerably very high rates of drug abuse and alcohol and drug addiction than other races, an a situation which should be aknowledged for these people to survive. Although the causes may vary from person to person, many of the causes for the significantly higher rates of drug abuse amongst Native American and Alaska Natives related to their culture. In fact, Native American and Alaska Native adolescents have some of the highest rates of drug and alcohol abuse in the U.S.. The most apparent obstacles to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for drug and alcohol addiction are cultural ones and language. Due to this it is important that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Hamill obtain treatment services in a drug rehabilitation facility that is culturally acceptable, and more importantly in one that takes into the account the need to provide drug rehabilitation in their language.
