Native Americans and Alaska Natives have significantly increased rates of alcohol and drug abuse and addiction than other races, an an issue which should be resolved for these people to survive. Although the reasons may differ from person to individual, many of the factors for the high rates of substance abuse among Native American and Alaska Natives are cultural ones. In fact, Native American and Alaska Native youth appear to have some of the highest rates of alcohol and drug abuse in the nation. The most evident obstacles to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for drug addiction are cultural challenges and language. For this reason it is crucial that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Fife Lake obtain rehab treatment in an alcohol and drug rehab program that is understanding of their culture, and more importantly in one that considers the need to supply alcohol and drug rehab in their native tongue.
