Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug rehab program which is meant to treat drug and alcohol addiction disorders and psychological problems which might be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the person in treatment participates in a number of rehab activities and approaches in the day and then returns home in the evening time. This is done anywhere from five to seven days per week, depending on the severity of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug addicted people in El Cajon who who may be unable to pay for long-term inpatient rehab, or for treatment clients who are unable to be away from their home for extensive durations of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in traditional counseling and therapy for alcohol or drug addiction issues while also dealing with mental health issues which may deter them from staying abstinent when rehabilitation is done.
