Men and women may become addicted to alcohol or drugs no matter their handicap or particular physical issue. This sometimes makes persons significantly more vulnerable to becoming involved in drug or alcohol addiction, because of the various issues that may be a factor in the perspon's life. This is true for persons in the deaf and hearing impaired community as well, and treatment for drug and alcohol abuse issues is sometimes necessary. Deaf or hearing impaired people will need ASL or other assistance as part of their treatment plan, and there are drug rehab programs available throughout the Darien Center area which specifically help fill these special needs. Expert drug rehab counselors who understand the need for ASL and can supply other necessary assistance to deaf or hearing impaired substance abusers are readily available in several drug and alcohol treatment centers around Darien Center and in the United States.
