Native American Or Alaska Native Language Services - Cuba, New Mexico
Native Americans and Alaska Natives have significantly increased rates of abuse and alcohol and drug addiction than other ethnicities, an an issue which has to be resolved for these people to survive. While the reasons may vary from person to person, the majority of of the reasons for the high rates of abuse amongst Native American and Alaska Natives are cultural ones. First of all, Native American and Alaska Native adolescents appear to have some of the highest rates of alcohol and drug abuse in the U.S.. The most apparent obstacles to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for addiction are cultural differences and their language. For this reason it is crucial that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Cuba receive substance abuse treatment in an alcohol and drug rehab facility that is understanding of their culture, and most importantly in one that understand the need to provide alcohol and drug treatment in their language.
