Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol treatment program that is meant to treat drug and alcohol addiction disorders and mental health disorders which may possibly be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the individual in rehab takes part in a number of treatment services and strategies in the daytime and then leaves in the evening time. This is carried out anywhere from five to seven days per week, depending on the seriousness of the problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for addicted individuals in Columbia who who may be unable to afford long-term inpatient care, or who are not able to be away from their home and work for extended lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in standard counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction problems while simultaneously dealing with mental health issues which may deter them from remaining abstinent after rehabilitation is done.
