Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol rehabilitation program which is meant to treat drug addiction problems and psychological problems which may possibly be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the treatment client in treatment takes part in a variety of treatment activities and strategies in the day and then returns home in the night time. This is carried out anywhere from five to seven days per week, depending on the significance of the drug or alcohol problem.
