Partial Hospitalization, sometimes referred to as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of drug and alcohol treatment program which works to handle substance abuse problems and psychological problems which might be co-occurring. In a PHP center, the treatment client in treatment takes part in a variety of treatment activities and approaches during the day and then leaves in the evening. This is done several days a week, all dependent on the significance of the drug problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug addicted men and women in Chemung who who may be unable to cover the costs of long-term inpatient care, or for treatment clients who are unable to be apart from their home and work for extensive periods of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals participate in traditional treatment services for drug and alcohol addiction issues while also addressing psychological problems which may deter them from remaining abstinent after rehabilitation is complete.
