Native Americans and Alaska Natives are known to have much very high rates of abuse and drug addiction than other races, an an issue which has to be addressed for these people to survive. Although the reasons may differ from person to individual, many of the causes for the significantly higher rates of alcohol and drug abuse among Native American and Alaska Natives are cultural ones. First of all, Native American and Alaska Native youth have some of the highest rates of drug and alcohol abuse in the U.S.. The most obvious hurdles to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for drug and alcohol addiction are cultural differences and their language. Due to this it is crucial that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Buckhorn, New Mexico receive substance abuse treatment in a drug rehab center that is culturally acceptable, and most importantly in a drug rehab that takes into the account the need to supply drug and alcohol rehabilitation in their language.
