Treating individuals who are addicted and dependent to drugs and have found their way into the criminal justice system has proven a successful method of eliminating repeat drug related criminal offenses those offenders that do receive treatment. For criminal justice clients in Black that do agree to take part in treatment in alcohol and drug treatment facilities, even against one's will as is often ordered by the judge, these individuals have a much better chance at dealing with the crux of the issue so that they can stay off of drugs and away from being implicated in drug related criminal activity. The costs to society related to these drug related crimes is also impacted positively when criminal justice clients turn out to be rehabbed in drug and alcohol rehab centers in Black instead of incarceration or other harsh punishment.
