Native Americans and Alaska Natives are known to have much higher rates of drug abuse and alcohol and drug addiction than other ethnicities, an an issue which should be aknowledged for these people to survive. While the things which trigger substance abuse may vary from person to person, the majority of of the reasons for the higher rates of alcohol and drug abuse amongst Native American and Alaska Natives related to their culture. In fact, Native American and Alaska Native adolescents appear to have some of the highest rates of alcohol and drug abuse in the nation. The most obvious obstacles to helping Native Americans and Alaska Natives for drug addiction are cultural differences and language. For this reason it is important that Native Americans and Alaska Natives in Bennington, Oklahoma receive substance abuse treatment in a drug rehabilitation center that is understanding of their culture, but most importantly in one that considers the need to supply alcohol and drug rehabilitation in their language.
