Partial Hospitalization, sometimes called "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a form of drug and alcohol treatment center which works to handle substance abuse problems and mental health issues which may be co-occurring. In a PHP facility, the treatment client in rehabilitation participates in various treatment activities and techniques during the day and then returns home in the evening time. This is done several days per week, depending on the significance of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be helpful for drug addicted persons in Balsam who may not be able to cover the costs of long-term inpatient care, or who are not able to be apart from their families for extensive periods of time. While in Day Treatment, treatment clients take part in standard counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction problems while also overcoming mental health issues which could keep them from staying sober after treatment is done.
