Partial Hospitalization, also known as "PHP" or Day Treatment, is a type of alcohol and drug treatment center which is meant to handle drug addiction issues and mental health problems which may be co-occurring. In a PHP program, the treatment client in treatment takes part in a number of treatment activities and approaches in the daytime and then leaves in the night time. This is carried out several days per week, depending on the seriousness of the drug or alcohol problem. Partial Hospitalization can be most effective for drug addicted people in Adams Center who who may be unable to afford long-term inpatient rehab, or for treatment clients who are unable to be apart from their home and work for extensive lengths of time. While in Day Treatment, individuals take part in standard counseling and therapy for drug and alcohol addiction problems while at the same time overcoming mental health issues which may deter them from staying abstinent after rehab is done.
